Software for visual monitoring of Summit 3208 Central Station

Software description

The software deploys the advantages of the standard Windows user interface for monitoring of Summit 3208 Central Station. This is an advanced security system which represents a complex set of various kinds of networked devices like glass breaking detectors, motion detectors, fire detectors, etc.

This version of the software did not include all the possibilities of monitoring Summit 3208. It can monitor the Station and can visually show the following messages:

• SYSTEM 1 NOT RDYOPEN ZONES
• SYSTEM 1 READY
• SYSTEM 1 ARMED
• SYSTEM AC LOSS
• SYSTEM LOW BATT
• ZONE xx OPEN
• ZONE xx IN ALARM

The software logs the time and event when the system is in any of the following states: ARMED, AC LOSS, LOW BATT and IN ALARM.

The user can choose whether the open zones will be recorded in the log or not. The communication between the PC and the Station is through the standard RS232 serial port and can be easily configured with the software. The configuration and the testing of the system is password protected. For testing purposes the software can even simulate the events and present them visually. All the events can be recorded in a log file.

This version of the software set the foundation for possible future improvements, such as visual design of the system: places, zones, loading background pictures of the room plans, creating sensors and associating them with the zones with drag-and drop, testing of the configuration, save/open options for configuration files, customized reports from the log database, commanding and programming the Central Station from the PC, etc.
